1990: in anti-government caste riots, Delhi college student Ranjan burns himself to instantly become a ‘Mahatma’ for some. His college friend Mohit is with him. Bed-ridden in hospital, Ranjan realizes his family will have to sell their home to pay his bills! He and Mohit come up with a desperate scheme: they bargain with a politician to pay the bills in exchange for Ranjan’s support to his party.
